Creating and Uploading Narrated Powerpoint

  1. Save the PPT file to Office 365 OneDrive: http://helpdesk.etown.edu/helpconsole2012/KB/default.aspx?pageid=upload_documents
  2. Share the file as anyone with the link: http://helpdesk.etown.edu/helpconsole2012/KB/default.aspx?pageid=share_documents
  3. To record narration. see this guide for the best way to do this to export to MP4: http://support.office.com/en-us/article/record-a-slide-show-with-narration-and-slide-timings-0b9502c6-5f6c-40ae-b1e7-e47d8741161c
  4. Export the PPT file to mp4: http://support.office.com/en-us/article/turn-your-presentation-into-a-video-c140551f-cb37-4818-b5d4-3e30815c3e83
  5. Upload the mp4 to VidGrid: http://help.vidgrid.com/en/articles/2554071-uploading-video-or-audio-filesUsing this process, the narration timings will be preserved so nothing gets cut off, audio and slides will remain in sync, and no additional background noise will be added from adding layers of audio to the file in multiple different tools throughout the process.  One caution: When you actually record the narration in PPT, use a headset if you have one and make sure your environment is as quiet as possible.
