Day 28 of the Digital Curation of Puffenberger’s Religious Artifacts

Today, Dr. Newton, Carol and I went over Hannah and I’s first draft. Some of the comments were to watch out for grammatical errors such as using passive, going back and forth between tenses and other things like that which can be easily fixed. Other major things that Hannah and I should focus on while we edit is the structure of our paper. Our paper was good with topics, but when you read through it, there is not a lot of structure. We wanted to order our paper sequentially, but in order to convey that, Dr. Newton suggested that we tell a story of how we did what we did. Dr. Newton also told us to take a look at our research question. The thesis did not really answer the research question so either we have to change the research question or write a thesis statement that encompasses the answer to the research question and mentions how we went about doing it. Since Hannah was not here today, I focused on posting the videos onto the website which took a lot longer than expected since you first have to upload them onto youtube, then get the code to embed the video, then added to the webpage and then resize it for each video. I also interviewed Dr. Bucher today and uploaded her footage so I can work on it tomorrow. For the rest of the day, I just edited the paper as much as I could. Tomorrow, I can start loading the videos onto the “for educators” page!
