Daily Blog #18: Digitization of the Puffenberger Religious Artifacts Collection

What a productive week! With over 33 artifacts cataloged, Amal and I proofread and added to every single artifact this week. I believe Amal and I both proofread each artifact’s description over two times each. This thorough process ensured that the descriptions were as professional as possible and that there were no grammatical errors left on a scholarly site such as Omeka. Spelling errors were the most common but were really easy to fix. Overall, Amal and I worked very well as a team to get this week’s goals complete.

Today after our daily meeting, I responded to the professors who agreed to be a part of the video interviewing process. I set up meeting times for next week and started thinking about what it is that we want to ask them. Amal and I also explored the video camera, making sure we know the technology for next week. For lunch, Carol took us to get pizza, as a mid-project treat! This trip was very nice of her and the pizza was delicious! After lunch, I finished taking the 360-degree videos for the last eight artifacts. I edited the videos and then uploaded them to Omeka. This process was a little tedious because the scaling of the photos was throwing off the animations and cutting off a lot of the artifact. So, I had to go back and retake photos of the eight artifacts again. I finally got the 360-degree videos looking right and uploaded them to Omeka.
