Day 17 of the Digital Curation of Puffenberger’s Religious Artifacts

Today started with a review of what is expected of us on our final paper. We want our paper to be as clean as possible since many people could read the paper if they wanted to see our progress throughout the summer as well as make our presentation a lot easier since we would basically have an outline of it in text. Our paper will be modeled after the ACE body-paragraph style. Our outline of our paper currently is to start of with a “get to the point” intro, and the address the topic, which would be the collection of artifacts. We would then ask the research question to how can we digitally curate the collection and how will it benefit Etown and beyond. We would then end with our thesis statement and movie on to stating our theories, or background knowledge that helped us complete the project and methods, which is how we did what we did. We would then move onto the body paragraphs which would state one assertion for each paragraph, provide some evidence and tie it together with commentary. We suspect that the body paragraphs will go sequentially of what we did over the summer but that could change. Our closing will consist of Hannah and I’s individual collection and what we hope for the project in the future and finally end with a “backwards” introduction to emphasize the importance of our project. While we focus on that, I also finished the trailer which I will show to everyone tomorrow to see if anything needs to be changed. I recorded the commentary with a microphone that the digital hub had which was much better than the apple headphone ones. I went through all of the artifacts one more time and proofread them again, specifically checking the links to make sure they were stable and that they opened to a new tab. Tomorrow I will check anymore that Hannah has concerns about, edit the trailer if need be and possibly start a more detailed outline for the paper.
