Day 4 of the Digital Curation of the Puffenberger Artifacts

Today, Omeka was finally downloaded! This allowed me to play around with the website and start adding the finalized categories onto the website. Omeka is a lot tricker than I thought it was going to be. Some of the Omeka plug ins that allow certain features to be displayed on the website needs code. I have never in my life dealt with any sort of code so that will be a challenge on its own. Today I also made an appointment with some of the library faculty that could help us with Omeka as well as meeting Dublin Core requirements for the descriptions of the artifacts. Tomorrow I hope to learn more about Omeka and start doing some research that will be added to the website. Tomorrow I will be sure to take a video that can be uploaded to the blogpost so that I am 100 confident in my abilities to work with WordPress. The video embedded above shows a youtube video that helped me create “collections” on the website, now we just need to figure out how to make subgroup sections.
