Continued Competency – Why Isn’t Continuing Education Sufficient?

Unlike other licensing Boards within the PA Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs whose licensure laws require its licensees to complete continuing education as a condition of biennial renewal, the PA OT Board is charged in section 15(a) with assuring continued competence of occupational therapists.  The Board interprets this provision as requiring varied experiences in addition to continuing education.
