Continued Competency – Why 24?

In determining the required number of continued competency hours, the PA OT Licensure Board looked to the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and its requirement for national certification as an occupational therapist because it is the standard in the occupational therapy profession. NBCOT requires its certificate holders to complete 36 Professional Development Units or PDUs triennially.  The Board’s requirement of 24 hours per biennium is parallel to NBCOT.

About

Working with kids for fifteen plus years as an OT in southeast Pa. School based practice, autism, early intervention, food habits, PA licensure and continued competency are my areas of interest and expertise. I look forward to "chattting" with lots of OTs on this blog!
