Daily Blog #1: Digitization of the Puffenberger Religious Artifacts Collection
Today was the first day of the Puffenberger artifact collection SCARP project and I am excited! Dr. Newton, Carol, Amal, and I discussed the foundations of our project and established our goals. After our discussion, we went to look at the Puffenberger collection in Nicarry and discussed the way we could separate the artifacts into groups that will focus on specific religious traditions. After that, we created an outline of the key features that we plan on including in our future website. We then did separate research on our parts of the project. I did research to find which layouts for the Omeka website would work best to display a digitalized artifact collection. After realizing quickly that I did not know much about Omeka, I became a little annoyed with the amount of information that I had to absorb just to find themes that would work with our server and would not cost a lot of money. Hopefully tomorrow, I will be able to explore Omeka with my newfound knowledge.
