Day 35 of the Digital Curation of Puffenberger’s Religious Artifacts
Today I finished the rest of the research on the artifacts and went through and edited as best as I could but I have completed all 20 artifacts for this week. Today I also interview Dr. Shorner-Johnson on some of the instruments we have in the collection. He was able to talk about the Tibetan Singing Bowl and the Shakuhachi flute and how they have made their impact in the musical world. I thought that the information really brought something more unique to the website since we now have information that stretches past the religious aspects and have information of the artifacts as a whole. Today Carol and I also discussed one obstacle that I ran into while doing research this week. A few of the artifacts on the website I think should be cataloged together such as the African Indigenous statue we currently have up there. The statue depicts a goddess that is always accompanied by a twin statue, so it would make sense to catalog them together on the website. Carol and I plan to do this next week and then talk to Hannah about how we make the 360 videos and upload the new pictures onto the website. Next week I plan to work on the paper and project, edit some of the videos on the website and proofread the whole website in general.
