Daily Blog #13: Digitization of the Puffenberger Religious Artifacts Collection

With 25 new artifacts cataloged and researched, this week has been very productive! We started our Friday off with a meeting discussing what we needed to finish today in order to meet our weekly goal and what we should start thinking about for next week. With Dr. Puffenberger possibly visiting next week to start the video interviews, we needed to start thinking about what we plan on asking him about each artifact that we end up selecting for the featured section. After the meeting, I set up the camera and got to work.

Some of the artifacts that I had to catalog today were a lot bigger than most of the other artifacts and would not fit in the photography cube. In order to still have a white background like all other the other artifacts so far, Carol brought in a white sheet that we fastened to the wall. The sheet acted as the white background and ended up looking pretty professional on the site. So, I worked hard throughout the day to take pictures, record dimensions, tag, and make 360 videos of eight new artifacts. The artifacts that I cataloged today included Wooden Confucius, Statue of Liao Tzu, Terracotta Soldiers (4), Baoding Balls, St. Francis of Assisi, Islamic Prayer Rug, Statue of Bahubali, and a Hindu Wooden Mask. Overall, this week was very busy but Amal and I ended up cataloging and researching 25 new artifacts in just four days!
