Reminders for Faculty and Staff Over Break
With the Spring semester soon coming to a close, ITS recommends some important considerations over the summer:
Set an out of office message
One quick and helpful way to improve your experience during the break is by setting up an automatic email reply. An out of office message helps correspondents understand that you will not be immediately responding to their email. It’s also helpful to note when you expect to return and be able to offer a response. For further explanation of the steps to follow to set this message up, check out our Knowledgebase article.
Change your network password
Your network password may expire over the break, which can lead to some inconvenience when returning. To help avoid this situation, we recommend that you change your password before the start of break. Make sure to keep these rules and tips in mind when creating a new password, and remember that you can use the password reset tool if you need to.
Be safe!
During break, staying technologically safe and secure can sometimes prove more challenging. ITS has a list of valuable tech tips to ensure security online available here. Be sure to follow these guidelines to protect your data and avoid potential phishing and malware attacks.
