Recent Updates to Canvas: October 2016
There are some great updates to Canvas this month that will save time and keep everyone on track! Watch some of the highlights in the screencast or read the full release notes for all of the details. Here are some of the new features and updates:
- Group Assignments and Peer Review: Canvas now supports intra-group peer review! This means that if you assign peer reviews with a group assignment and select automatic assignment of the reviews, that people in the same group will not be assigned to peer review each other. This will be a huge time saver for those who use group assignments and the peer review feature. No more need to manually assign peer reviews.
- Global Navigation Menu Width: Users can now expand or collapse the far left global navigation menu to show/hide the text labels. The setting will persist after logging out and across browsers. This feature was automatically implemented for smaller screen sizes, but now can be manually toggled even with larger screens to free up more screen real estate for viewing content.
- Dashboard To-Do List Items: Now all items with a due date will appear in the To Do list, even if it is something with no grade or submission associated with it.
- Instructor Groups Link: There is now a full link near the upper left of the groups area to allow an instructor to switch to another group more easily.
