Wireless Network Upgrade
On May 23rd, ITS will begin upgrading the campus’ wireless network. The system enhancements include:
- Changing your password will not disconnect devices from the secure wireless
- Faster & stronger connections
- Less Interference (uses 5.4GHz instead of 2.4GHz)
- Increased capacity for high number of devices
At times during the transition, wireless connections will be unavailable, but there will be no impact on the wired network. Contractors will also be entering rooms to replace almost 500 access points.
When the upgrade is completed, devices will need to be connected to the new wireless network. Connection instructions will be provided closer to May 23rd.
