Recent Updates to Canvas: January 2016

Recent updates to Canvas have resulted in some useful enhancements.  Check out this video to learn about the most recent updates.

Some highlights include:

  • A new Canvas look that adjusts to the size of your screen.  Learn more about the new Canvas user interface here.
  • Reorganization of the global navigation links, placing the “Account” link at the top (to access your personal notification settings and to log out).
  • Hide assignment group totals with final grade. If a faculty member enables the “hide final grade” in Course Settings, it will also now hide the assignment group totals.
  • Link Validator in course settings: This new tool finds links to deleted and unpublished content and provides a warning when links direct to different courses.
  • A bug fix related to muted assignments.  Now when an assignment is muted, the grade is not computing as part of the assignment group total.
