Tech Tip: Snipping Tool

To capture a specific portion of the screen as an image, the Snipping Tool can be used. This lets you to cut a small section of the screen and allows for basic editing of the image.

To access the tool, click the Start button and search for Snipping Tool. Click on the icon to launch the tool, and the screen will become faded. To use the tool, click and drag a box around the part of the screen that you wish to capture. An editing window will immediately appear when you unclick, and from here you can edit the image or save it.

To capture in a shape other than a rectangle, click the drop-down arrow next to New and choose Free-Form, Window, or Full Screen Snip.
