Canvas Updates – July 2015
You have probably noticed that the college website has a Canvas button now so that you can easily log into Canvas. But if you ever just want the direct web address, it is http://etown.instructure.com. Now that we have fully transitioned to Canvas and archived all Blackboard courses with content since Fall 2013, we have decommissioned the Blackboard server.
We will continue to offer training so that faculty and staff can learn how to use Canvas. The next training session is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7th from 10:00-11:00 AM in Hoover 108. Come learn how to get started designing a course in Canvas. In this session, we will cover:
- Navigation and Organization of Canvas
- Utilizing the Course Setup Checklist
- Customizing the Home Page
- Customizing Personal Settings
- Adding Course Files
- Creating Course Content (Assignments, Discussion, Quizzes)
- Communicating with Students (Announcements, Email)
Please register for this workshop here: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/canvas-basics-registration-17007721553
There is also an online, self-paced version of this workshop content. You can self-enroll in this Canvas course by visiting http://etown.instructure.com/enroll/K48EPB and using your usual E-Town username and password to login.
Can’t attend this workshop, but want to meet with Linda to learn Canvas at another time? Email your available dates and times and another session can be scheduled that meets your needs.
