Canvas Tip of the Week: File Access in Courses

Although the files button in the left navigation bar is hidden from student view in Canvas, students can still possibly access files in other areas of the course without the instructor realizing it.  So, it is critical that instructors take a moment to be sure that all files they only want students to be able to access from an assignment or link posted in a module or discussion board are locked in Canvas.  Here is the help guide for how to do this. It is highly recommended that you restrict access to all files and make sure you see the yellow cloud icon next to the files/folders to be sure they will only be accessible to students in the modules where they are linked.
