Password Change (For Students)
It’s that time of year again! Before heading back to school make sure to change your password, not only on your email but on your mobile devices as well. One of the most common reasons students get locked out of their accounts is because they recently changed their password but didn’t change it on their mobile devices as well. If your smartphone or tablet keeps trying to connect to the internet on campus with the wrong password, you get locked out. You must be sure to change your password in email and for wifi on every device you own.
When creating a new password, remember that it needs to contain at least three of these four elements:
- Uppercase letter
- Lowercase letter
- Number
- Special character (i.e. # $ ! * ^)
In addition, your password must be a minimum of eight characters, cannot be your username or email address, and cannot be the same as your last five passwords.
You can change your password when logging on to a campus computer or through the Outlook Web App when checking your email.
