Word – Select a Vertical Block of Text

How does one select a vertical column of text in Word without selecting anything else on each line?

PC
In this example, point your mouse at the beginning of FAPA then hold down the ALT key and drag across and downward.

MAC
In this example, point your mouse at the beginning of FAPA then hold down the OPTION key and drag across and downward.

Then you can copy, bold, etc. just that vertical block of text.
