Fall 2013 Technology Workshops for Faculty, Staff and Students
This fall, ITS has scheduled many workshops about educational technology topics, software and the phone system. The scheduled classes for August and September are posted below. If you are interested in attending any of these classes, please register here.

Blackboard Teaching Circle(1 of 4) | This teaching circle is a more informal learning community where specific questions posed by the attendees can be addressed and discussed. The teaching circle will begin with a mini-lesson on a Blackboard feature or teaching strategy and then will conclude with a Q & A session and sharing time. This month we will demonstrate Blackboard Assignments which allows students to submit written assignments electronically. No more flooded email inboxes or lost papers. Blackboard – Turnitin Plagiarism Checker Overview | Built into Blackboard is an assignment tool called Turnitin that allows students to submit their written work and have it checked for issues with plagiarism. This tool does more than enforce academic integrity, however. With Turnitin, you can also grade student papers online, provide written and verbal feedback electronically, and also check for plagiarism. | 9/4/2013 2-3pm |

Turnitin – Create an Assignment | This hands-on session will allow participants to create a Turnitin assignment in Blackboard, customize the settings and then deploy the assignment to students. | 9/4/2013 3-4pm |

Digication – Creating Assignments | One of the powerful features of Digication is that assessment data can be gathered via artifacts in portfolios. By creating assignments that students submit portions of their portfolio to, an archive of that artifact is created and then can be used to demonstrate course, program and institutional assessment goals. | 9/5/2013 10-11am |

Learn to conference call or setup a quick MeetMe conference call, record and activate the alternate (out of office) greeting. Place a call directly into voice mail. Work with softkeys such as Do Not Disturb, iDivert, Directory of Missed, Received, Placed calls and Corporate Directory. If you don’t know someone’s number, ask the phone for it!
