Getting the Background Color to Print

If you add a page color to your Word document (Page Layout ribbon, Page Background group, Page Color), it looks fine on the screen but if you print preview or print the document, the background color doesn’t print.

Work-around:

In order to have the new background color apply to the printed version of your Word document, you’ll need to make a change to Word’s default printing options. To do this, first click on the Office button (Word 2007) or File tab (Word 2010) and then click Word Options (Word 2007) or Options (Word 2010).

Just to make sure that everything needed has been changed, look at the Print Preview for the document before you actually send it to the printer. You can view this by clicking on the Office button, selecting Print and then Print Preview.
