Tech Tip: Malicious Email Attachments

A new hybrid virus threat is using infected document attachments in emails. When you, the user, opens the attachment then the virus infects your computer. The first and best line of defense is to delete emails from addresses you don’t recognize, and do not open attachments you were not expecting. This can be dangerous for you, your information, and your computer. You can forward phishing attempts to mailcop@etown.edu. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by the ITS Help Desk.
