Nevertheless, media of all types have focused more attention on the Amish in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Coverage of the Amish by print media began in the first half of the twentieth century. Media coverage increased dramatically in television and film in the last quarter of the twentieth century. The feature film <em>Witness<\/em>\u00a0was widely viewed in the United States and abroad in 1986.<\/p>\n<p>Later films and television series such as\u00a0<em>Aaron\u2019s Way\u00a0<\/em>and <em>For Richer or Poorer<\/em>, <em>Plain Truth<\/em>, <em>Kingpin<\/em>, <em>Harvest of Fire<\/em>, and <em>Stoning in Fulham County<\/em>\u00a0depicted Amish life with various levels of authenticity. <em>Devil\u2019s Playground<\/em>, \u00a0featuring rebellious teens during <em>Rumspringa,<\/em> appeared on HBO in 2004. A reality TV series, <em>Amish in the City<\/em>, depicted Amish youth and non-Amish youth living together in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>The BBC aired two documentaries, <em>Trouble in Amish Paradise<\/em>\u00a0in 2009 and <em>Leaving Amish Paradise<\/em>\u00a0in 2010. British Channel 4\u00a0produced a reality show, <em>Amish: the World Squares Teens<\/em>, in 2010. National Geographic, using ex-Amish people and actors, aired <em>Amish at the Altar<\/em> in 2010, followed by\u00a0a ten-part series,\u00a0<em>Amish: Out of Order,<\/em> in 2012.
