Elizabethtown College’s School of Graduate & Professional Studies (SGPS) will be recognizing its 2021 Alumni Who Inspire Award winners during Homecoming & Family Weekend at the SGPS Live! social networking event on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Hoover Building.

Cindy Strawbridge ’21, John Bey ’12, and Brad Garfinkel ’18 will each be celebrated for their achievements.

The event is open to SGPS alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Those wishing to attend must register by Oct. 6.

The Alumni Who Inspire Award highlights SGPS alumni at varying stages of their careers who have proven to be change agents in leadership and are truly inspirations to SGPS staff, faculty, alumni, and current students.

Cindy Strawbridge ’21 –  M.S. in Strategic Leadership

Strawbridge is being recognized for her positive contributions and impact on the York community. She was involved in the “You Matter Scholarship” and is a graduate of the leadership training program, “Leadership York” where she was voted by her class to present the graduation address.

John Bey

John Bey ’12 – B.A. Corporate Communication

Bey serves as the Chief of Police for the Lancaster City Police Bureau. His extensive law enforcement background includes community policing, police and media relations, interpersonal communications, organizations, public speaking, hate/bias incidents and hate organizations, mediation, and conflict resolution. 

Brad Garfinkel

Brad Garfinkel ’18 – M.S. in Strategic Leadership

Garfinkel is the V.P. of Retail Services at Members 1st FCU. His professional efforts focus on mentorship and coaching.  As a community leader and volunteer, Garfinkel has shown a singular ability to bring people together and build productive relationships.
