Elizabethtown College Biochemistry and Molecular Biology double major Sagar Patel ’23 was recently awarded a national undergraduate scholarship from Alpha Lambda Delta, the National Honor Society for First-Year Success.

Patel received the Jo Anne J. Trow Scholarship, which was started in 1988 in honor of a past President of Alpha Lambda Delta. Selection for the scholarship is based on maintaining a 3.5 grade point average, academic records, participation in Alpha Lambda Delta activities, campus and community service activities, and the applicant’s essay answers. This year, Alpha Lambda Delta awarded 50 Trow scholarships to exceptional students from across the country

Patel says his membership in Alpha Lambda Delta has had a significant impact on his college experience.

“Alpha Lambda Delta has helped me pushed myself more academically as I further my college education,” said Patel. “They have made me feel more connected with the campus community and have helped me pursue more activities on campus.”

Etown Recognized by National Office

Due to membership increases, Etown’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta was recently recognized with the Alpha Bronze award from the national office. This award signifies that between 70-79% of the total individuals eligible at Etown have been initiated into the honor society.
