Elizabethtown College recently started a new program called “Safety Cents,” which identifies and recognizes students who are upholding Covid-19 protocols on campus.

When students are observed following Covid-19 protocols, they’ll receive Safety Cents certificates from Community Living staff, including Resident Assistants and professional staff, as well as other members of Student Life.

Students will be rewarded for wearing their masks, following the guest policy guidelines, keeping social distance, and following the other procedures detailed in the Return to Campus guide.

When a student receives Safety Cents, they can write their name on the certificate and use it toward prizes auctioned off at an event at the end of the semester. At the event, students will be able to use their Safety Cents to bid on various prizes or to enter a raffle.

This initiative is designed to acknowledge and reward students for keeping themselves and the campus community safe and encouraging everyone to continue to follow Covid-19 guidelines throughout the semester.
