Nineteen Elizabethtown College Student Resident Assistants (RA’s) were recently recognized by the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO) for academic excellence. MACUHO is an association aiming to promote high standards in the management of residence halls and offer opportunities for growth and education to residence hall staff. MACUHO recognizes the success of E-town’s RA’s.
“Our RA’s are active resources to all students,” shares Michelle Henry, Interim Assistant Director of Community Living. “They are usually the first people students meet on campus, and they play an important role in residential student lives.”
The Office of Community Living staff work tirelessly to ensure that students living on campus feel safe and cared for on campus. With events geared towards health and well-being, life after college, and living with a purpose, E-town RA’s are helping prepare their residents for many aspects of life. “I became an RA because I love the aspect of community on the floor and how the community can transform the year into something it wasn’t before,” shares Alexis Trionfo. The passion of each RA shines through in the work they do and the way they connect with each of their residents. Gio Zapata shares that he became an RA because, “I saw an opportunity to share my knowledge about my college experiences with underclass students and be a mentor for them and whatever they are going through in their college experience.”
