E-town Dance Team’s passion helps fulfill a child’s wish

The Elizabethtown College Dance Team (ECDT) will host a night of performances, prizes, and education benefitting the Elle Foundation. On Friday, Feb. 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. in Leffler Chapel and Performance Center, students on the ECDT and other performance groups from the college will produce a night of entertainment to raise money for the Elle Foundation, a group that benefits children struggling with cancer.

Pulse Dance Studio, a dance school based in Lancaster County, and E-motion, the college’s dance club, will perform alongside the Elizabethtown College Dance Team.

Elizabethtown College’s A Cappella groups have performed at this event in past years and have been invited to support the event again this year with the three dance groups.

Throughout the night, the ECDT will be selling raffle tickets to raise money for the Elle foundation, and they promise great prizes to those who enter and are lucky enough to win.

The Elle Foundation was created in 2009 with the mission of creating joyful memories for children with cancer by granting their final wishes while they are battling a recurrence. The foundation is run entirely by volunteers, and the money they raise goes directly toward giving children a chance to forget about their illnesses and do something that brings them true happiness.

Gabby Stawinski, a first-year on the Dance Team, explains the meaning of the night for her and her team: “One Elle of a Night is about giving back to kids with a recurrence of cancer who deserve to make amazing memories. We hope that everyone enjoys a great night of entertainment and contributing to a great cause.”

Tickets for the event are $3 for students and $5 for non-students.
