Elizabethtown College student Kristin Wilkinson recently was awarded a scholarship from Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, headquartered in Indianapolis. Kristin, of East Amherst, New York, was awarded the $750 Frank, Virginia, and Martha Research Scholarship for undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students. 
Kristin applied for the scholarship, which is based on academic success, involvement in Kappa Delta Pi, and a written essay along with her senior research thesis, last spring. A review committee evaluated the scholarship applications that were submitted from students around the country and selected the recipients.
“I feel so honored to receive this KDP Scholarship for my work on my honors thesis,” said Kristin. This topic was really special for me to work on and it’s extremely under-researched, so I am so grateful to be honored for it. “I can’t wait to continue my research and make a difference for the kids in my future classrooms.”
Kristin, an education major at E-town, plans to graduate in Dec. 2019. She wrote her thesis on integrating STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and multicultural literature. Kristin aspires to teach middle school math.
