‘It’s on E-town’ Grant to Focus on Reducing Campus Violence

Recently, 38 colleges and universities were awarded state-funded grants aimed at reducing campus violence and sexual assaults. It’s part of the state’s ‘It’s on Us’ campaign led by Gov. Tom Wolf to provide tools and resources to help prevent sexual harassment on college campuses.

“Elizabethtown College recognizes that prevention strategies must be comprehensive, targeting individuals, peers/partners, organizations, and communities, in order to be effective in increasing bystander behaviors and reducing violence,” Elizabethtown College Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Title IX, Dr. Armenta Hinton said.

The ‘It’s On Us’ $20,000 grant will assist E-town’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Title IX in collaboration with the Offices of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to enhance its sexual assault program offerings for the campus community, with a focus on intimate partner violence, healthy relationships, bystander behaviors and creating culturally competent training and resources. In recent years, the College has seen increases in reported incidents of intimate partner violence.

This is the first time E-town has received funding from the campaign.
