Paul Cramer, vice president for enrollment, was interviewed about student debt figures for the LNP article “Pa. student debt burdens are among US’ highest, but Millersville, F&M buck upward trend.”
Also, Cramer and Kristi Syrdahl, director of international student services, were quoted in the LNP story, “Elizabethtown College joins global consortium to help Syrian students,” about E-town committing to offer half-tuition scholarships for eligible Syrian students.
Dr. Oya Dursun-Ozkanca, director of International Studies minor program, was interviewed by Serbian media on the EU’s refugee crisis and Turkish foreign policy in the Western Balkans (click the arrow at the bottom of the video to see the second video). She also was interviewed by Tanjug Serbian media on the Western Balkans.
Dr. Karen Johnson-Weiner, Snowden Fellow with the Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies, was interviewed by an LNP reporter about females in the Amish community for the article “Karen Johnson-Weiner seeks greater understanding of Amish women, Plain Sect diversity.”
Also, Johnson-Weiner was interviewed by ABC27 television about regulations surrounding photo ID for the Amish as it pertains to gun purchases.
Dr. April Kelly-Woessner, professor of political science and department chair, wrote a blog, “How Marcuse made today’s students less tolerant than their parents,” for Heterodox Academy, about the rise of the “New Left” and the decline in political tolerance among America’s youth.
In addition, Kelly-Woessner was interviewed on the Tom Woods Show about the views of those who reached young adulthood around the year 2000 in “Are the Tolerant Millennials the Least Tolerant of All? New Research Asks Some Tough Questions.”
Kelly-Woessner’s blog “Coercing kids to eat healthier school lunches doesn’t work” appeared in an October LNP op-ed.
Dr. Kyle Kopko, assistant professor of political science and director of the College’s pre-law and Honors programs, spoke to Brad Bumsted with the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review for the story “Pa. Gov. Wolf pushes ‘broad-based tax increase’ to avoid $2B deficit.”
Also, Kopko was interview by Bumsted and Mike Wereschagin for the Review story “Memo from deputy hints at revolt in attorney general’s office.”
Kopko was interviewed for a Philadelphia Inquirer article “’The most significant race in recent memory’ for Pa. Supreme Court.”
Dr. Fletcher McClellan, dean of faculty and professor of political science, commented on the “program mix” of schools, the wealth and standardized test scores of incoming students as it pertains to tuition for the LNP article “How much do Lancaster County colleges really cost?”
Michael Mitchell, executive director of the High Center, was interviewed for the Pennsylvania Business Daily article “Pennsylvania employers not as optimistic as they were last year.”
Debra Ronning, lecturer in music and director of keyboard studies, was interviewed about her daughter’s dystonia diagnosis for the LNP story, “Trio Caprice show at Elizabethtown College to raise awareness of dystonia.”
Dr. Carl Strikwerda, College president and professor of history, had his column “Crucial Higher Ed Issues: The Elevator Speech” published by Inside Higher Ed.
Additionally, Strikwerda was interviewed by a reporter at the Lititz Daily News for the article and video “Etown College Breaks Ground on Solar Array,” which reported on the College’s $500,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority.
Dr. Michael Swanson, associate professor of theatre and director of theatre and dance, spoke to LNP reporter Jane Holahan about “one of Shakespeare’s great romantic comedies” for the article “The college theater season offers something for everyone, from farce to tragedy.”
Robert Wallett, vice president for administration and finance, was interviewed about the College’s solar array for an American School & University article.
Also, Wallett spoke with a reporter from LNP about the educational aspect of the College’s solar array project for the article “Elizabethtown College breaks ground for largest college-related solar installation in Pa.”
