The Rev. Tracy Sadd, Chaplain and director of religious life, was quoted in LNP, Patriot News and on WITF about the College’s new interfaith leadership studies major. Sadd discussed the applications the major would have toward certain career pathways.
Dr. Bruce Lynch, director of student wellness, contributed facts on E-town’s counseling services for the March 1, LNP article, later picked up by the Associated Press, “Stressed at college? Schools want to help.”
Dr. Dan Chen, assistant professor in political science, wrote a March 1op-ed for LNP, “U.S. should leave this fight to allies in the Middle East.” Chen discusses her view on the U.S. involvement in the conflict with the Islamic State.
Dr. Fletcher McClellan, dean of faculty and political professor, was consulted for the March 3, LNP story, “Severance tax on gas drillers would fund public education and offset property tax reduction.” The article discussed Gov. Tom Wolf’s plan to levy a severance tax on natural gas drillers and use the funds toward public education and to offset a reduction in property taxes. McClellan also spoke on the subject in a video segment for LancasterOnline.
Dr. Kyle Kopko, assistant professor of political science, was quoted in the March 7 Pittsburgh Tribune-Review story, “Wolf’s tax-a-palooza.” The article went into detail about Wolf’s budget address and its possible implications.
Kristi Syrdahl, director or international student services, was a guest speaker in the WITF Smart Talk segment, “International studies growing.” On the program, Syrdahl discussed the College’s international student population.
Dr. Michael Long, associate professor of religious studies, had his book about Mr. Rogers featured in March 13 The Christian Post article, “Mr. Rogers Was a Counter-Culture Christian Icon, Not Just a Wholesome American TV Star, Says ‘Peaceful Neighbor’ Author.”
Donna Talarico, Marketing and Communications, was featured in the Sunday, March 15, edition of LNP in “Lee Gutkind, ‘godfather of creative nonfiction’ coming for conference” for a three-day event she’s producing on behalf of her literary magazine, Hippocampus. Talarico was interviewed for another LNP article about “Finding joy in missing out” or JOMO. She also was featured in the March 8 Book Ends column for May 6 a speaking engagement at Lancaster Literary Guild.
