John Kokolus, dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Elizabethtown College, and Julie Walton, the school’s admissions and marketing coordinator, were quoted in the article “Virtual learning: Students opting for online classes from colleges” on Feb. 10. The article featured schools with online courses and degree program options.

 

Elizabethtown College’s screening of the Spike Lee’s film ‘Do the Right Thing’ on Feb. 17 was featured in the article “Spike Lee, Rosa Parks, maple syrup and other things on tap this week”. The 1989 film, set on the hottest day of summer in Brooklyn, N.Y., was inspired by an actual incident in which a group of white youths chased down and killed an African American man.

 

The College’s performance of ‘These Shining Lives’ was included in the article “Thoughtful theater at area colleges”, posted on Feb. 12.  Set in the 1920s, the play features the story of four women who were exposed to radiation.

 

The Business Department’s M&M Mars Lectures were highlighted in the Feb. 2014 issue of The Manufacturing Confectioner. The article described the goal and benefits of the program for the College, as well as the upcoming lecture dates and speakers.
