Elizabethtown College faculty members from the Department of Fine and Performing Arts perform the All Faculty Concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, during the Monday Series Concert in Leffler Chapel and Performance Center. The concert features eight songs, including “Come into my Garden” by John La Montaine and “Preludio Tragico” by Manuel Ponce, as well as solo and ensemble music for instruments and voice.
Dr. E. Douglas Bomberger, professor of music and department chair said, “The department starts each year with a faculty concert to provide an opportunity for the student musicians to hear their faculty perform, before they get to perform themselves.”
The concert is an inspiration for students to work hard and aim high at the beginning of the year, he noted, but it also is an opportunity for off-campus audience members to see what’s going on in the department. “There will be a lot of variety in the show and something for everyone to enjoy,” Bomberger said.
Faculty members – groups or individuals — were invited to submit song recommendations for what they would like to perform.
