Tech Tip: Try Restarting

When you have a problem with software or your computer in general, the first thing that you should generally do is to reset the computer or device by turning it off and then back on again. This is usually the first thing that the ITS Help Desk will ask you to do, and this is a common practice. Often, a computer needs to reset to default settings, and to restart individual programs; performing a full restart can fix these problems. Before contacting the ITS Help Desk, try doing this if possible.
