Force Quit an Application – PC & Mac

Sometimes applications just freeze and no matter what you do, you can’t turn them off. This is where a force quit is handy. You don’t have to shut down the computer, just the application.

PC

1. Press Control + Alt + Delete

2. Select Task Manager

3. Select the Applications tab
4. Click the application that is “Not responding”
5. Click End Task
6. Close Task Manager

Mac

Three ways to Force Quit:

1. Choose Apple menu > Force Quit, select the application in the list and click Force Quit.
2. Hold down the Command and Option keys and press Esc.
3. Hold down the Option key and click or press the application’s icon in the Doc
