Phase II- Day 6 Puffenberger Collection

Today I was able to move the entire collection from last year over to the new website. I had to re-edit the site to fit the original idea of what I was looking to do on it, but it all worked out. In between transferring all of the databases, I was able to photograph four new artifacts which were then also uploaded to the new website. This now brings the site to 63 objects out of 203, and I think that this is an excellent place to have on only week 2.

Hello everyone, I hope that you are finding our daily blogs useful or at least entertaining.

Today was a bit slow day for me. I began my day researching about what does it mean to digitize religious artifact, and how to handle them respectfully. From this research, I have found that the world of digital humanities is a growing field that is still grappling with how to handle culturally and religiously important artifact in an ethical matter. Between representing accurate information to being respectful to each tradition, having the responsibility of accurately portraying an Ancient tradition like Buddhism is a daunting task. But I am prepared myself and have the ability to learn and grow.
